THE PRODUCTION PROGRAMME

Preciosa’s main production programme consists of cut glass parts for fashion jewellery, Preciosa´s speciality: enamel overlay chandeliers. i.e. machine-cut glass stones. These include chatons (imitation diamonds), which form the bulk of Preciosa’s output and exports, beads, fancy stones and chandelier trimmings. The delicate beauty of cut crystal figurines by Preciosa In the finished products sector, Preciosa makes exclusive fashion jewellery, cut gift prisms made of optical glass in several colours and finishes, rosaries, both classic and modern chandeliers and other types of light fittings of various styles, shapes and sizes (ranging from the smallest wall sconces to large chandeliers, which the company’s specialists are ready to assemble and install on site), and cut crystal figurines (including the signs of the zodiac).

 


MODERNISATION AND ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION

All glass-cutting factories have been equipped with powerful water treatment plants. In accordance with Preciosa’s development strategy, the company continues to modernise its production by introducing a new generation of cutting and polishing machines of its own design and manufacture. At the same time, environmental protection has not been forgotten. All glass-cutting works, for instance, have been equipped with powerful modern water treatment plants and so the basic objective declared by Preciosa in this field - an environmentally safe and friendly company - has come true.



HUMAN RESOURCES

Also one of the most important aspects of modern management, personnel policy, has been devoted to building up a company of world-class standards. Preciosa not only ensures high-level health care and recreational activities, but has also created a universally accessible system of education and retraining of its employees. Moreover, the company grants scholarships for study at universities at home as well as abroad, giving preference to the applicants from the families of the company’s employees. In 1996, Preciosa established The Preciosa Foundation. This non-profit organisation, subsidised by the mother company, financially supports, through its seven funds, health care, science and research, education and retraining, culture and fine arts, physical education and sports, environmental protection and humanitarian and social activities, mainly in the North Bohemian region.

Preciosa continues the centuries-old glass-making traditions of northern Bohemia and from them it draws inspiration for further development. The company has thus based its future on combining the masterly skills of old glassmakers with the latest in science and technology.
